FAQs
What makes a Korean facial different from a traditional facial?
At Beauty Artist Studio New York, we embrace the Korean skincare philosophy of prevention, deep hydration, and long-term skin barrier health rather than quick fixes or aggressive treatments. Our Korean facials go beyond skincare, combining scalp, décolleté, and facial massage with relaxing air-compression leg massage, so you can fully unwind while your skin receives the attention it deserves. Each treatment is tailored to your unique needs, whether you want to improve hydration, dullness, uneven texture, pigmentation, or signs of aging, leaving your skin refreshed, balanced, and radiant.
It’s my first time; which service suits me best?
Our Intro Facial is not only a perfect way to start your journey to gorgeous skin but also a “self-love (pamper & relax)” time for you! Our customized facial includes a personalized experience, cleanse, tone, extractions, and customization of skincare tools based upon your concerns and goals.
How often should I get facials?
For those who are into a facial regimen, getting a facial every month for optimal results and a glowing complexion is recommended. For beginners, the frequency is usually higher. We usually recommend a facial every 2–3 weeks at first, then continuing as recommended for your skin. A lot depends on the age, skin type, sun damage, and general condition of the clients’ skin.
When do results start showing?
Immediately. As soon as you are done with your facial, you will be pleasantly surprised to notice smaller, almost invisible pores, an even smooth and radiant skin tone, and supple, hydrated, younger-looking skin. But for those with a more severe condition, we recommend at least 4 sessions before you notice a huge improvement to your skin.
What is HIFU?
HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. Without puncturing the skin's surface, this treatment can target various depths of the body's tissue for skin tightening, skin lifting, and body contouring. HIFU technology boosts new collagen production and collagen regeneration right at the source. Collagen allows plumping of fine lines/wrinkles and tightening of the skin.
How many shots of HIFU do I need?
The number of shots required varies from client to client, depending on the severity of the jowls, size of the face, power applied during the procedure, etc. In general, 1000 shots cover a small targeted area (such as under-eye and nasolabial folds); 2000 shots (comes with extra 500 shots) covers face line (overall jawline care); 3000 shots (comes with extra 1000 shots) covers the full face.
What is the Kyung Rak K-Sculpting Facial?
The Kyung Rak K-Sculpting Facial is an infusion of deep tissue massage and facial. Our skincare expert uses special Korean massage techniques on your face and upper body to help reduce the appearance of puffiness, relieve facial muscle tension, and promote a refreshed, sculpted appearance. It also helps to sculpt your jawline and achieve that coveted V-shape in your facial structure. After the treatment, you will notice a much youthful stress-free face!
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that treats and improves conditions like acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, loose skin, skin texture, pore size, brown spots, stretch marks, and discoloration issues. It's also called skin needling, collagen induction therapy (CIT), and percutaneous collagen induction.
What is the benefit of Gold Facial?
Because gold increases blood flow, it helps slow down collagen depletion and elastin breakdown thus making skin look younger, smoother, and more youthful. When applied topically as a facial, gold can also help firm and tighten the skin.
Can people with sensitive skin get facials?
Of course, yes! In fact, they need facials the most. Debris and oils in the deepest layers of sensitive-skinned people can cause havoc if not cleared out with the help of facials. People with sensitive skin report fewer breakouts after facials.
Can makeup be used after the facial?
This question seems to pop up repeatedly, and the answer to that is, “Ideally, no.” Immediately following a facial, it's probably best to stay away from your makeup for at least 24 hours. Also, with the glow and radiance after a facial, you might reconsider applying makeup. Facials leave a natural glow on the face for days at a stretch.
